Media
The discs that the PSP uses are called Universal Media Discs or UMD.

back of the PSP so loading UMD's is a simple process. Sony have also
declared that the UMD is an open format which allows developers to freely
use the media for developing games or releasing films which should ensure
a healthy selection of titles. The PSP also offers support for memory
sticks with the Memory Stick Duo slot, this allows you to save data
such as saved games or store files such as MP3's or video, the Sony
PSP also comes with a 32meg memory stick.
Connectivity
The Sony PSP also has amazing connectivity which is one of the PSP's
strongest points, it offers wireless IEEE 801.11b support allowing you
to connect to other PSP's for amazing multiplayer action. If you are
near an accessible wireless network this means you can play multiplayer
